On our second day in the Canyon, Ranger Jeff suggested Hermit's Trail. This 7-mile hike took 5 hours and was much tougher than the first day's adventure. We hiked to dripping springs but never did see that darn drip.
Hermit's trail is an ungroomed, rocky, treacherous trail that inexperienced climbers, like Ellen and I, probably had no business being on. |
Here's Ellen climbing over a rock slide to look for the trail on the other side. |
As you can see behind me, sometimes the trail would completely wash out and we had to edge ourselves across the rock face to continue. |
We were proud of ourselves, and a bit relieved, when we completed this trail. |
